Dr. Williams – Thanks so much for seeing our 9-month-old son, Noah, during our stay at Tybee Island this past week. We are back home in Commerce now and will follow up with our pediatrician, but it was a great relief to have you come to the vacation house and check on him, to have you to call at near midnight and to have you call to check on Noah the next morning. You are offering a great service to those visiting Tybee Island, when their regular doctor is hours away, and I am sure those who live on the island year-round are also thrilled to have house calls available. Thanks again – Jana and Zach Mitcham
Dr. Williams……….I think you are a miracle worker! In less than 24 hours after meeting you, I feel 100% better. I have never had a house call from a doctor before and I must say, I LIKE it! Your knowledge and concern was very reassuring and I really appreciate all the phone calls and arrangements you made for me.
I agree with Ms. Mitcham above……you are providing a very valuable service to this island and I hope you are able to continue for many years to come.
Thank you. Karen Fritchie
Have you ever been 200 miles from your dr and need help ASAP.. My family has been taking an annual trip to Tybee for the past 25+ yrs and needless to say we have always had something happen where we needed a dr. This trip my 4 year old started running a high temp and was coughing badly..I remembered that I had seen an article in the local magazine for the Beach Doc..I called and the most wonderful person answered the call Dr. Williams… he was the answer to our prayers..I called and told him what was going on and he called in a rx for my son and even picked it up on the way to see us… I was so impressed with his professionalism and compassion and concern for my son…I have told everyone that I know about the wonderful Dr.. My family will continue to vacation on Tybee and we will all sleep better at night that we know he is there…I cannot THANK YOU enough and I am jealous of Tybee now that they have such a great dr..Plus he called when we got home to see how my son was…THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH…
That we can be so lucky to have a doctor that will make house calls on Tybee Island- our paradise. Let me tell you, I was dying- the result of handling old poison ivy vines- some simple landscaping. The good doctor came and gave me the prescription that saved me and let me get finally get a good nights sleep. All hail Dr. Williams.
Thank you so much Dr Williams! I’ve suffered from migraines my entire life, and lost my insurance with my job a year ago. After suffering from a headache on and off for five days I called Dr. Williams. He gave me a thorough professional exam, knew exactly what prescription I needed, and I did not have to take out a loan to pay my medical bill! Even better, I didn’t have to drive to Savannah and wait for hours. One week later and I have not have another headache yet. Thanks again Dr. Williams! I am so happy we finally have someone who cares on the island.
One of the most difficult things to do when moving to a new place is finding a physician whom you feel comfortable with and confident in their care. Dr. Williams came to our home to see my spouse and I was so impressed with his demeanor and the quality of his care, I asked him to see me as well! He clearly explained his diagnosis and treatment without talking down to us and didn’t prescribe a lot of unnecessary drugs. The ability for both of us to interact in one another’s health regimen was a unique and positive experience. I wanted to hug him. Thank you Dr. Williams. We and others on the island are very lucky to have you!
Any one on Tybee Island that is looking for great medical care needs to call Dr. Williams! He is a doctor that treats you with respect and makes sure that he is hearing everything you say. What a nice change from all the doctors I have seen in the past. I felt very comfortable talking with him about my medical needs. I lost my medical insurance when I was laid off and here is a guy that truely loves what he does and wants to give folks the best care possible. Hooray for Dr. Williams!!!!! I have a renewed faith in the medical profession that was lost for a long time.
Many thanks to Dr. Williams for salvaging our son Henry’s vacation. Despite a negative strep test in Washington, DC just before our drive south, his diagnosis for an extremely sore throat with an antibiotic treatment was exactly right. When I told the kids that the doctor was coming to see us, they thought it was a bit strange (though my wife and I loved the idea. . . brought back memories of our childhood), but his visit and engaging personality totally turned their heads around. It’s a terrific comfort knowing that such a caring doctor will be around for our future visits to Savannah/Tybee. Good luck and kudos to you, Dr. Williams, for working to bring emergency medical equipment to the island.
While visiting my mother on Tybee Island a few weeks ago, I noticed an ad in Tybee Breeze for The Beach Doc-Dr Jeremy Willaims- who made House Calls. Being a Nurse Practitioner , I was impressed that this service was available on Tybee. Little did I know that in a few days I would be in need of his care.
On a Sunday ,upon awakening, I noticed a discomfort in my left eye which rapidly progressed to rather severe pain.
Thinking back I remembered difficulty removing my contact lens the night before and felt that I probably had injured
my eye. I did not want to spend all day Sunday(which was my birthday) in the Emergency Room. My daughter who was visiting contacted Dr. Willaims, explaininf the circumstances. At that time he also talked to me, listening as I described my symptoms. Within about one hour he made a house call, diagnosing and treating my eye. I addition, he obtained the needed medication from the pharmacy for me. He was very kind and thorough, being sure to give needed instructions and asking if I had any questions befoe he left.
I highly recommend Dr. Williams. The people of Tybee are indeed fortunate to have such a caring physician available to them.

Thank you so much for the speedy service and assistance with Bill’s cut on his foot. We appreciated not needing to wait in line at a Med Center and your willingness to come on Father’s Day. What an incredible service you provide!
I would like to say thanks to Dr. Williams for his professional expertise and his dedication. He spends his week at his regular practice, then comes home to the beach and makes house calls in the evening and on weekends. My family and I were on Tybee the week of June 5th. I had experienced some back tightness the week prior to the trip, but on our second day I completely threw out my back. It took almost 2 hours just to be able to stand so I could get off the beach and back to the house. Well of course it was Sunday, and where can you go on Sunday except the emergency room? My back hurt so badly I was seriously considering the emergency room. Thankfully, my father-in-law found the Beach Doc’s ad in the Tybee Breeze instead. Dr. Williams was able to get to our beach house quickly – no six hour trip to the emergency room. Not only did he know exactly what was going on with my back, but he even filled and delivered prescriptions to our house. The medication helped me survive the drive back home and get back to work. Again, I want to reiterate again he did this on a Sunday and was off to see another patient after me. I think this world could use more people like Dr. Williams. Thanks for your help!
Thank you Dr. Williams. Thank you for coming to my home on a Sunday when I knew my cold had turned into something much worse, pneumonia. You exhibited great listening skills, patience, medical expertise and professionalism. While you are obviously a very well-trained physician, you treat the whole patient and do not display the aloof detachment common to so many members of your profession.
The fact that you make house calls and are always available by cell phone is a refreshing change to the way most professionals handle their business. I would recommend you without any hesitation or reservation. Thank you,
Michael Moody, Esq.
On June 8, 2010, my son awoke with an ear ache while we vacationed on Tybee Island. We phoned our Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor at our hometown. We were told to take our 9 year-old son to Urgent Care. I phoned a local pharmacy to inquire about island doctors. She gave me Dr. Williams’ phone number. Imagine my suprise when he answered his phone himself! He asked me to describe my son’s symptoms and said he would meet us at our beach rental within the hour. He arranged for the pharmacy to call me and get my insurance information so that she could file the pharmacy claim for us. Dr. Williams arrived and thoroughly examined my son. He even delivered the medicine from the pharmacy! He called the next day to follow-up on my son’s progress. He even phoned me once we returned home from our vacation to ensure we followed-up with our regular doctor. We were so grateful to have had the care of Dr. Williams while on summer vacation. One never knows when he/she will need the care of a doctor; it has been a true blessing to have had Dr. Williams provide quality care to my precious son. I have sang Dr. Williams’ praises since we have returned home. His willingness to make house-calls and quality care will certainly impact our future decisions when selecting a vacation site. Thank you, Dr. Williams!

Thanks so much for seeing me on Saturday and getting me much-needed relief from the pain of my mouth sores and headache….they aren’t completely gone but are waaaaay better than what they were and I know in a day or two I will be back to normal.
I really appreciate all that you did, especially while trying to get to the beach with your daughter.
It is so great knowing that you are here and I will definitely be spreading the word about your great care……..
Thanks again,
Lori Westphall
Having cut myself at work with a knife, I contemplated visiting either the ER or an outlying clinic for stitches. Prior trips to the ER in years past left me feeling like I was going to not only wait a minimum of 12 hours to be seen, but also leave me saddled with a tremendous hospital bill, for something I, as a former military medic, would deem as a relitively minor injury. These worries were relieved when I decided to call our very own Island Doc.
A thorough but quick phone chat and Dr. Williams was at my house. I cannot begin to describe to you how comfortable it was to be treated in my own home. To save time and space, I will not list all the benefits that I see from this alone. This is only a part of it though, because bedside manner, or in my case, glass table manner, is what really counts when it comes to receiving medical treatment, regardless of need.
Dr. Williams was kind, thoughful, knowledgeable, thorough, and most importantly, listened to me. He made me feel at ease throughout the whole treatment process. With the stitches in, the neosporin on, and the bandage in place, we discussed any concerns I had. I cannot tell you how long it has been since I have seen a doctor who has not only put me at ease, but looked me in the eye, honestly listened to me, and gave me exceptional treatment, but never in the comfort of my own home.
My upmost thanks goes out to Dr. Williams and his family for providing this service to not only myself, but all the residents of Tybee Island. I cannot thank him enough for patching me back up and getting me back to work without the stress of throwing myself into the hysteria of the typical hospital experience we see so often today.
Day 1.5 of a short trip presented a really sore throat on one side. The next day
it was worse and the Hotel gave me Dr. Williams’ card. I called and he was
there an hour later. Dr. Williams thoroughly checked me and advised me of his
concerns, prescribing me an antibiotic. He indicated I should start to feel
better by later that evening and that if I did not, I should call him no matter
what time. Dr. Williams was very professional and very personable during the
“hotel call”. He was not in a hurry, he listened to what I had to say and made
it a point of asking me if he had been as responsive and attentive as I
expected. I can tell you he way exceeded expectations. The next morning
(leaving day) I awoke with worse symptoms and called Dr. Williams. True to
form, he answered and told me to go to the ER due to the concerns he had voiced
the previous day. We finished the call and a few minutes later he called back
to let me know he had spoken to a physician at the ER and that they were waiting
on me with knowledge of my condition. Then Dr. Williams gave me easy to follow
directions to the ER in Savannah. Finally, he insisted that I contact him later
and let him know how I was doing, the same instruction he gave to the ER doc he
called! I got to ER and did not even have to sit down. I was seen immediately
(I assume due to the call by Dr. Williams). I was seen by the Dr. that Dr.
Williams said I would see and was evaluated and treated quickly. Thankfully,
the condition was not as serious as Dr. Williams thought it could be (he could
not have know this as only a CT scan can detect it) and I was out and on the
road in under 3 hours. I called Dr. Williams later that evening and interrupted
him grilling on the back deck. Like my many previous calls to Dr. Williams, his
wife (“the best thing that ever happened to me”) answered the phone and already
knew of my situation stating that “Jerry” was anxious to hear from me. He came
to the phone and asked how my treatment at the ER was, apologizing that I !
was sick during my vacation. Again, he said I could call on him any time and you can be
sure that next time we are at Tybee and anything comes up that requires medical
attention, Dr. Jerry Williams’ phone will ring. Dr. Jerry, thank you for the
service you are providing which extends well beyond medical expertise.
I am not one to go to the Drs. usually try to heal myself….but…the first full day of our staycation on Tybee I was out for my usual morning long run. The beach was windy so the hit the sidewalks…literally…fell while running…cut my chin bad, black eye and lots of abrasions…..Lifeguards took care of me on site…but later that afernoon I could not get my chin to stp bleeding….worried about missing the fireworks that night I called Dr Jerry thinking he would clean it up and put a bandage on…I call him, his card is on the fridge of the place I was renting……he answers …surprised me…he was in the city and would be out as the traffic flow on Saturday, July 3rd would let him……when he arrived he informed me I needed stitches…….oh my…I laid on the sofa…he got all his medical goodies out….the grandkids are watching and he proceeds to put 3 stitches in my chin…….beautiful job I must say….don’t think there will be a scar….loved the attention he gave me and how true concern was felt….Dr. Jerry Williams Rocks…….thank you so much…..may our paths cross again (but under different circumstances).
A long over due thank you to the “beach doc”…..what a breath of fresh air to the medical community….a modern day doctor that makes housecalls. You are truly an amazing doctor. Thank you so much for the care and follow up care you provided to my husband Ricky. You are not only professional and thourough but you are absolutely one of the most compassionate and caring phsicians I have ever had the blessing to cross paths with. You can believe I have told everyone i know how great it was to have found you …on the island…away from home……and dreading a long wait in an ER. Again…many thanks…
Thank you so much for taking care of my sister, Patty Craft
two weeks ago. I really don’t know what we would have done without your
service. I can only imagine the time you saved us, in the Savannah emergency
room. I thiink the most important thing you did for her was to set her at ease
and encourage her to call you back if she needed you. We plan to keep your
number close for further trips to Tybee. Thanks again for making our vacation
better. Susan Smith, Decherd, Tennessee
It is true what they say about Georgia hospitality! I was on Tybee Island July of 2010, found the beach doc. aka, Dr. Williams, after much searching called 911, they gave me your number, and you came to our condo , (my first house call) and was great. Thank you Dr. Wiliams for being so hospitable, I was quite sick, and when you gave your follow up call you encouraged me to go on to the Savanna Memorial Hospital. Very glad we did. You helped me to get better with one issue, but we found out I had a tennis ball size cyst on my ovary. This was why I was in worse pain and not getting better. If you hadn’t suggested the ER, I wouldn’t have gone. We got great treatment at ER, meds to get me home, we left early, and I saw my dr. Mon. All Dr.’s said you did the correct treatment. I am mending. I will recommend the condo rental co. put your magnet on their refridgerators. It would have sped up my search for local help. I will totally recommend you to any one I know of traveling to Tybee. We will be back when I am well enough to vacation, but hopefully won’t need your services. You understand! Thanks Leslie Ellis of Texas.
Dr. Williams: We are so very grateful for your impeccable services. Our family had an emergency that we were having difficulty finding treatment for. Fortunately you were recommended. We called and you immediately came even when we called you away from your family in the middle of dinner. Your knowledge and caring manner was evident upon the first minutes of meeting you. It was very comforting to have you come to our home and your professionalism put us all at ease. Our emergency is well on the way to healing and we would still be struggling had you not been available. Your mission of listening and answering all questions not to mention your availability 24/7 is a true treasure for our island. You offer a fabulous service to the residence as well as the islands visitors. Thank you for taking on Tybee. We loved having a home town doc who makes house calls! Elizabeth Johnson – Tybee
My husband and I took our grandsons to Savannah this weekend (Aug 2010) for a short vacation. One of them fell at the water fountain in Market Square and hit his head pretty hard. He had a pretty bad lump on his head and the Hyatt on River Street recommended Dr Williams when we inquired about a house Doctor. However, we were staying at the Marriott and I called Dr Williams and he came straight to our room. My grandson is nine years old and was very scared. Dr Williams put him, as well as us, at ease. He did a complete exam and even talked to the parents on the phone. He even called back the next day to follow up on his condition. And to top it off…his fee is extremely reasonable!! I would recommend Dr Williams to anyone needing medical attention.

I cannot fully express how grateful we are to Dr. Williams! As first time vacationers to Tybee Island, when our seven year old son came down with a sudden case of “notstrepthroat-butlooksjustlikeit’itis” we panicked! Thanks to the wonderful ladies at the information office, we were given Dr. Williams’ phone number. Not only was he immediately accessible and available, he even came to us!!! Dr. Williams was everything I could have wished for in a doctor and more! He was exceptionally thorough and remarkably friendly! Beyond a few doses of antibiotics and strict doctor’s orders to resume having fun the following day, Dr. Williams gave us something so much more valuable; peace of mind! We knew that if there was anything we needed, we could count on Dr. Williams to be there. We were truly blessed to have met such an incredible doctor and received such great care. We highly recommend Dr. Williams for all of your family’s medical needs!!

I really loved this post. You describe this topic very well. In bringing Medical House Call services to patients, the hands of time are essentially turning back. I remember how medicine used to be practiced, before busy doctor’s offices, complicated insurance policies, long lines at clinics, rushed office visits, and crowded emergency rooms. I’ve noticed that somewhere along these channels of annoyance, doctors began to lose sight of what mattered most… their patients. I remember when the doctor and patient were able to develop truthful relationships through Medical House Calls and had all the time necessary to discuss, examine, diagnose, and treat their condition. The idea behind developing this type of practice model was to minimize the understandable exasperation that both patients and physicians have grown accustomed to in busy todays medical practices. Medical House Calls makes a doctor visit calm and comfortable in your own surroundings.
best case ,you will not need medical care while on vacation…but if you do,call Doctor Williams!!! He was attentive ,gentle and thorough. I felt very reassured and confident that everything was okay after he saw my mother for a leg wound. He called the very next morning to check on her and told us we could contact him 24 for hours a day by phone if we felt we needed to. He explained everything and answered questions we didn’t even know to ask ! He also arranged for his follow up visit before he left so that we could be reassured we would get it looked at again before we left for home. He comes to you ! Can’t tell you what a stress reliever that was ! My Mom has ALS, so not having to go through the ordeal of getting her to Savanna was wonderful. Mom was really happy with his visit, that is saying alot, as she has seen more than her share of doctors ! Please keep him in mind if you are on Tybee…you won’t finder a kinder man. THANK YOU,DOCTOR WILLIAMS !!!!
We are so very Lucky to have a Doctor on call for Tybee. I have personally called the Beach Doc for clients In an emergency situation and he has responded Immediately! Thanks Doctor Jerry Williams

I just read of you through a friend, Freeman Jelks. I think when he was here
last or during the time of his Dad’s funeral, you and he got together. His
mother had told me about your work in Haiti, which put together what I had read
in the paper with the family.
I only want to commend you for the terriric, altruistic service you are
offering. The world needs to be aware of people such as you, who do what we all
should do for our fellow human beings – give what we can of our skills and
talents.
I salute you and look forward to when we’ll meet. I know there will be much to
talk about.
Thanks, congratulations, and best wishes,

Thanks to Dr. Jerry Williams for the quick response, and the immediate assistance that he gave me. He recognized my symptoms and right away he diagnosed me and got me the assistance that I needed…Thanks Doc!!!
Dr. Williams is exactly what Tybee Island and Savannah area needs. Back in the day, doctors used to make “House-calls” and this was a very personal and convenient experience for the patient and the doctor. Dr. Williams is bringing this back to modern day practice back and his expertise in these matters is reflected in his work ethics. Dr. Williams gave me the personal care that I needed without having to sit in an emergency room for long periods of time, for something that would take a matter of minutes to perform. Further, Dr. Williams was very attentive to my concerns, listened to what I had to say, and he gave me the attention that I needed to put myself at ease and in terms that I could actually understand. His cost was far less than what the trip to the emergency room would have cost me. For this, I can not thank him enough for his bedside manners and professionalism that he instills in his work. So, if you are visiting, or live on Tybee Island or the Savannah area and you need medical assistance promptly, I would surely recommend giving DOC a call, without hesitation or delay. You will be glad that you did, should you need his services…
Dr. Williams is the antithesis of what doctors have become. He listens, asks questions and uses his education and experience of people to not only help you but understand you. I’m am truly impressed and feeling lucky that i have access to a gifted doctor in the times we live in. THANK YOU!
Many thanks to Dr. Jerry for coming over so quickly to look at our three year old’s ears. While vacationing on your beautiful island our daughter, who has an extensive medical history, decided that her ears hurt. Not knowing exactly where to go or what to do I found Dr. Jerry’s ad in the tybee island flier in our rental unit. We gave him a call and before long there he was. He listened to me and my long drawn out story and asked important questions. He took the time to listen to a well versed, overprotective mother go on and on. He then followed up with our doctor at home since “he knows her best.” The proper antibiotic and we were back out on the beach. Dr.Jerry was fabulous and being able to get medical care in your own home was a true blessing. Thank you so much, you do a great service to your community.
THANK YOU Dr. Williams!
I am a person who rarely gets sick so when I got to the point that I felt like I NEEDED a doctor, I called Jerry and I am glad I did. He made a house call on a Saturday morning, addressed the issues I was having, listened to my concerns and got me the appropriate medication. I was feeling better in no time!
I strongly recommend Dr. Williams for every reason! Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We even had some good conversation about similar likes in music and hobbies.
Tybee Island is fortunate to have him around.
Dr Williams,
I wanted to say “thank you” for your wonderful service you provided to me. I am feeling better and will be able enjoy the holiday with my family. I want to say you are a caring doctor we are so lucky to have on Tybee. Thank you for coming to see me right away after my call. I will tell everyone about you and this great service you provide you are terrific!!!!!
Happy Holidays!!
Joanne Naylor
Dr. Williams,
I am sorry it took me so long to write this, but thank you so much for coming to see my daughter. She was playing and grabbed my feet out from under me and I literally fell on her. She complained of a headache and was crying non-stop. I decided to take her to the ER as it was after 8:00 at night. I called you instead because I thought it would be faster in case she needed immediate help. You got to my house in 3 minutes. You were so kind and helpful. I was glad that I was just being an over-reacting Mom, but you can’t be too careful when it comes to kids. My daughter still plays these games with her 2 sisters, and says to me “don’t worry Mom, if one of us gets hurt we will just call that nice Tybee Beach Doctor”
Thanks again, I really appreciate your kindness and the service that you provide.

Thank you Dr. Williams for the house call last week. No one would believe that the doctor would make a house call for stopping smoking. I was impressed. I moved to Tybee in October with no insurance. I had called several physicians in the area for pricing on an office visit an they were out of my price rqange. Dr. Williams provide me with an awesome service at an affordable price. Not only did he help me with the means to stop smoking but he also refered me to other physicians. If you need a doctor that provides prompt and thorough service call Dr. Williams. Thanks again
We visited Tybee Island and Savannah for the first time last November, 2010. Beautiful beach, weather, no crowds – lovely. But then a nasty sinus infection set in and rather than suffer the rest of the vacation, I called the Island Doc. Within one hour, Dr. Williams arrived at our beach condo and provided me with the medical care I needed. Within a couple of days I was feeling much better and able to enjoy the rest of our vacation. His caring concern was so much appreciated and it was great to have a qualified physician within such close proximity. Thanks Dr. Williams!
I joined my mom on a vacation to Tybee Island last month. I had recently had a heart procedure and needed my blood to be monitored. Dr. Williams was amazing! He took extensive time with me gathering my medical history and took time calming my fears! He had extensive medical knowledge to help me with my concerns/questions. He even went so far to give me his cell phone to call him if I experienced any difficulty! I am so thankful for the work Dr. Williams is doing in Tybee and for the wonderful care I know he will offer many other vacationers.
Vacations are supposed to be fun, carefree times, so when sudden illness happens, it can spoil everything.
My wife and I have been coming to Tybee regularly for 16 years now. Last week, on our latest visit, my wife developed a severe sore throat and bronchitis. She was miserable. We went to the Island Doc at 8:00 AM and Dr. Williams was there within 20 minutes. He was personable, professional and above all, thorough. He diagnosed my wife and prescribed antibiotics. In 24 hours, she was vastly improved and was able to enjoy the rest of her time on the island.
I have been an RN for 31 years, most of which has been in Health Care Regulation and emergency care, and I can attest to Dr. Williams’ knowledge and professionalism. He is an asset to the community and exemplary of his profession.
Keep up the good work, Doc!
Bob Tyma RN, HFSN
I spent some time at this beautiful Island for a week, and the last day I was there, I had so much edema to my legs , At 9:45pm, My husband called and at 10pm, we pulled up to his clinic and so did He. It was nothing like I ever seen BEFORE, ! Let’s get to the point! This is coming from a LPN!!!! IT DOESN’T GET BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!! Dr. Williams was so Caring,Observant,Concerned and Listened to everything I had to say.” I WISH Dr. Williams was my Doctor back home”. “I HIGHLY RECCOMEND HIM “!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
